The Nature of God: The Infinite I AM
Getting to know what God is all about is pretty much the heart of everything in the Infinite Way. It's the big first step toward living with spiritual freedom.
God as Infinite Consciousness
Here’s the thing: God isn’t some far-off being or a cosmic deal-maker handing out rewards or punishments. Nope, God is infinite Consciousness—an all-encompassing presence that isn’t “out there” somewhere. It’s actually the same as your own consciousness. It’s not “God plus us”; it's all one and the same. That makes you (yes, YOU!) just as infinite as God. Mind-blowing, right?
This Consciousness is everything—like the whole package. It’s got all the power, all the presence, and all the knowledge. If God is everywhere, then guess what? There’s no room left for anything like evil or destruction. Pretty comforting, huh?
God as Is-ness and Substance
One of the coolest ideas is that God just “is.” God’s not out there waiting for instructions or prayers. God is busy being God, doing its thing as the creative force behind, well, everything. It’s the foundation of all that exists. Even the stuff you see around you—your body, your coffee mug—has a spiritual core, even if it looks “material” to us. Mind = blown, again.
And here’s the kicker: since God just IS, there’s no need to go chasing after fulfillment or begging for blessings. It’s already there. We don’t have to convince or change God; we just need to get in sync with what already exists. It’s all about alignment, not effort.
Your True Identity: The Real You
Once you get what God is all about, you start to realize something incredible—your true self. Spoiler: it’s a total game-changer.
The I That I Am
Your real identity isn’t tied to your name, your job, or even your personality. It’s the I. Yup, Joel S. Goldsmith talks a lot about this—how “I” is the only word that truly captures God and doesn’t put Him in a box. And here’s the wild part: the “I” that is God is the same “I” that makes you, you. They’re one and the same.
This I is eternal, unshakable, and full-on complete. It’s got everything wrapped up inside it—food, shelter, protection, you name it—even if you’re not fully aware of it yet. You’re already equipped with everything you need.
Consciousness, Not Form
Here’s the deal: this true “I” of yours isn’t about your physical body or personality. Those are just vehicles—a sort of “home base” for expressing your true self. If you think the human version of you (the Jane or the Bob) is all there is, you’ll get stuck in a loop of limitations, aging, and, well, all the not-so-fun stuff.
Dying Daily to the Human Self
To really tap into your true identity, you’ve gotta let go of the small, ego-driven version of yourself. That doesn’t mean fixing or perfecting it—it means letting it step aside so the real you, the Christ within, can shine through. It’s a bit like a daily reset. You acknowledge, “Hey, I can’t do this all on my own,” and let that deeper, divine part of you take the wheel. It’s not about striving; it’s about trusting.
The Infinite Way: Living Spiritually and Letting Grace Take Over
The Infinite Way is pretty much all about helping you experience God firsthand. That’s what spiritual consciousness is all about. Once you get there, life starts to flow a whole lot more smoothly because Grace takes over.
What’s Spiritual Consciousness?
Spiritual Consciousness is when you stop reacting to all the craziness of the outside world. You realize God is the real deal—like the one true power and presence—and that all the other “bad stuff” is just an illusion. It’s what happens when you start seeing life through a spiritual lens.
How do you get there? Inner work. You spend time thinking, meditating, and contemplating these ideas. Slowly but surely, you start to feel that connection with God. And that’s when the truths you’ve been learning about stop being just words and start becoming your reality. It’s a total freedom moment.
Living by Grace
When you’re living by Grace, life feels lighter. You’re not grinding to make things happen or stressing about every little thing. Instead, stuff just kind of falls into place—often before you even realize you need it. That’s Grace in action.
Think of it this way: you’re not stuck under the “rules” of life anymore (like material struggles, karma, or even medical laws). Grace rewrites all that. It’s as if life starts saying, “Relax, I've got this,” and suddenly health, abundance, peace, and harmony just show up. Your only job? Chill out and trust it.
So, to wrap it all up: the Infinite Way teaches you that God is infinite Consciousness, which means YOU are infinite, too. The goal isn’t to “fix” yourself or force things—it’s to wake up to the spiritual truth of who you already are. As you do, Grace takes the lead, and life becomes more about flow and less about struggle. Doesn’t that sound pretty amazing?
